I thank the miserably hot Chicago summers for mY career.

I grew up in old house, no air conditioning. "Go to the library," my mom said. She liked that it was free. I liked that it was cool and had shelves full of books. I read entire series of books cover-to-cover. The librarians got sick of me.

Reading turned into writing, and I just couldn't stop. I went on to study journalism at The University of Missouri and have been writing professionally ever since.

Before launching Aveck, I worked as an agency and in-house copywriter at Edelman, Threadless and Sittercity. For years, I also hustled to build my freelance business on the side. When I had enough clients to cover the bills, I took the leap into working for myself. I love the flexibility and variety that running my own business offers.

I enjoy biking all over any city on the planet and chatting with neat people like you (especially if we’re chatting in French.) My favorite conversations are had with friends or strangers over tacos, cheese or wine.

Choose your corner, pick away at it carefully, intensely and to the best of your ability and that way you might change the world.
